We introduce the Top Sophomores in the TX Tri-Regions on the first day of the New Year...

On the first day of the New Year, we give you our staff's first unveiling of the ACHGBB "Select 20" of 2027. A class that is loaded from top to bottom with several D1 targets and talent projecting to all college levels. Here are the top ranked sophomores in all of the Texas Tri-Regions.

At #1 overall, is 6'5" Center, Jasmine Travis (Steele HS).  The low post is a load on the block, and can single-handedly impact a game on either end. Once she gets the ball deep in the paint, she uses her size and height to capitalize. She cleans the glass on both ends and is routinely seen swatting would-be shots. Travis has worked on her face-up game and lateral movement, and continues to hone her skills. She already holds several high major D1 offers.

The top rated guard in the class if Elizabeth "Libby" Lee (Glenn HS). Excellent size and height for her position. She is the tip of the sword for the #1 5A ranked Lady Grizzlies. Her handles are well above average. She will attack and score with either hand. Her perimeter game is smooth and accurate, well beyond the arc. Her IQ is off the charts. She is not afraid to take advantage of smaller defenders and will punish them down low when she posts. Is a high major D1 prospect.

Fresh off a newly earned Big XII offer is Jada Jackson (Frenship HS) at #3. Standing a legit 6'3", this center exploded onto recruiting boards with her performance at TABC in June, and she continues to impress. In the paint, because of her height and length, very few can prevent her from finishing down low. She runs the court very well and does it full speed. Impacts the game defensively and will be seen consistenly grabbing boards and swatting shots. She can face the basket and use a soft touch from 10-12 feet out. She can hit the set shot from even further.

Another low post is up next at number four in Alison Naylor (Pieper HS). She has impressive footwork down low and is comfortable in going either over left or right shoulder. Uses her tall and long frame to finish around the hoop, and is shooting nearly 50% from the field on the season. Has shown the ability to square up from the free throw line extended, and is not afraid to put the ball on the deck. Can be counted on to hit the boards and her length causes issues for anyone attacking. She is part of a very talented trio for the Lady Warriors.

Guard/Wing, Faith Etienne (Ellison HS) is #5 on our list. Above average quickness and speed, is a nightmare to match-up with because of it. Her range extends 1-2 feet behind the arc, and will carve up defenses if they let her shoot. If defenders close out, she has no problem dribbling right past them and finishing at the rack. Can handle the rock effectively with both hands. Great feel for the game and does not force the issue, will make the extra pass to find the open teammate.
