District play is now upon us. With half of the 2024-2025 season already in the books, our staff has been wall to wall in gyms all over the State eyeing the talent of the Texas Tri-Regions.

This is our first 2027 Rankings release, and here's a look at our Top five.

Quality point guards are hard to find at any level and as a sophomore Josiah Jones (Harlan HS) is proving that he fits the mold. He holds down the top spot in our initial 2027 rankings. Has a facilitator mind set that impacts his team and the game. Is averaging 6 assists per contest and can score when needed. Leads the Hawks w/16ppg. Can get downhill, is a threat from the perimeter, and looks for the open teammate.

Behind him is teammate Amoni Francis (Harlan). The 6'6" forward has shown improved handles playing more frequently on the wing. He has a solid frame and still has a knack for hitting the glass on both ends. Uses his length to alter and block shots. Finishes easily above the rim and can bang down low.

Mackenlei "Mac" Martin (Buda Johnson HS) is our third rated prospect. A smooth shooting guard standing 6'3" has good and accurate range on his jumper. Works to get open and uses good athleticism to create space and separation from defenders. Is not shy in using the mid-range and can effectively attack off the dribble and finish at the hole.

On a very talented St. Michael's team is where you will find the fourth ranked prospect, Sunvith Jinkal. A 6'4" shooting guard with a very high ceiling. Plays with such tremendous IQ, and is consistently seen making key play after play. Has above average accuracy from the perimeter and a sweet stroke to add. His ability to weave through traffic and finish with contact is impressive. Sneaky athleticism that will open eyes when he raises up and finishes above the rim.

In our fifth spot is dual sport standout, Aiden Martin (Brennan HS). The 6'4" rangy athlete is a defensive back standout on the gridiron and he uses that same versatility and athleticism well, on the hardwood. Very good length and lateral movement. Is a slasher who can finish offensively and can clamp down defensively. Plays physical and has added even more depth and firepower to the #1 ranked 6A team in the State.
