San Antonio, TX-
The 2024 club season has come and gone in the blink of an eye. This past weekend wrapped up the final NCAA LIVE recruiting period and we held our 9th annual AlamoCityHoops Summer Hoopsfest to culminate our spring/summer event schedule.
With 50 teams on hand, there was a fair amount of talent and competition, and as usual, the talent rose to the top. Here’s the breakdown of who went unblemished on the weekend and a snapshot of how they did it.
17U (4-0)
OFG Elite NXT PRO
The team hailing from the South Texas Valley, put on a display of sharp shooting, full throttle offense, and team play. Buzz-sawing through competition with their closest victory of margin being 14 points in a win over C3 Select. The other three wins were by 34, 35, and 36 points respectively.
John Paul Olivarez (Vela HS/2025) was the catalyst of the scoring attack leading the way in the scoring column. His weekend high was 33 pts in a big win over SA Premier 2026. Teammate Jordan Bustamante (Vela HS/2026) helped carry the scoring load, netting 18 points or more in 3 or their 4 wins. The guard combo stayed hot all weekend and paced OFG to an impressive 4-0 mark.
Cowboys DIJA
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Cowboys battled and grinded to an unblemished weekend. Three of their four wins were by single digits, as their resiliency and team chemistry helped propel them to the win column all weekend. The trio of Britt Stewart (New Braunfels HS/2025), Carson Cox (New Braunfels HS/2026), and Bridger Elrod (New Braunfels Christian Academy/2026) all took turns leading in the scoring column for Coach Williams. In watching the 17U group, it was clearly evident that this group has been hooping together for quite some time. Their familiarity in late game situations was clearly evident and the results came through each game.
SA Premier Rodriguez
Another team who ran roughshod over the competition. Sotomayor guard Jasiah Saunders was un-guardable during the showcase, averaging 24 ppg. His personal high came when he blistered the nets for 32 points in a lobsided win over Centex Attach South, 62-28. At 6’0”, his first step and ability to attack defenders off the dribble, and finishing once he got downhill, was like a broken record. You knew it was coming and there was no stopping it.
Enirque Torrez (Southwest HS/2025) and Alijah Hubbard (John Jay HS/2026) complimented Saunders’ offensive attack, both having their own double digit scoring games to help balance the attack. Premier’s smallest victory of margin was 17 points on the weekend.
Dockery Basketball Academy Blue
It was a well rounded performance by DBA Blue, as the team showed the ability to play tight and survive, in addition to being able to open it up and cruise to the finish line. Opening eyes was the play of guard Emiliano Henderson (Roosevelt HS/2027) only a sophomore to be, setting the pace in two of the wins as high scorer, but overall it was a balanced team attack. Carmelo Martinez (Roosevelt HS/2025), Cole Vaughn (Clark HS/2025), and Trevor Jones (Gregory Portland HS/2024), all took turns on center stage scoring the rock.
In their final game on Sunday afternoon, it was Henderson who stepped up with 23 big points, even showcasing a little range on connecting behind the arc with some critical buckets. Helping DBA Blue surge to the 60-56 win over ProSkills SA 2025.
THP Elite
The weekend started off tight and in a battle for THP as they outlasted BTB Select Robles, 56-53. As the weekend went on, the team began to click handling business versus the SA Blue Devils, handling a tough opponent in Team Buckets, and finishing the weekend with a romp of Centex Attack South Keith, 84-42, doubling them up.
Max Filderman (Bowie HS/2025) showed he could go off and was responsible for the offensive charge in two of their wins. On the weekend he nailed a combined 13 three-pointers showing he was the most accurate and productive marksmen all weekend. His game high of 26 points came in their final win of the weekend. Myles Fernandez (Buda Johnson/2025) was a solid scoring compliment, netting double figures in three of THP’s wins, and leading with a team high 15 pts in their win over the Blue Devils.
16U (4-0)
ProSkills SA Black 2026
Netting three wins on the floor and adding a forfeit, propelled ProSkills SA Black to the perfect weekend. Leading them in scoring each game was Richard Guerra Jr. (Stevens HS/2026) tying his high for the weekend, dropping 23 points in two of the wins over SA Premier and ATX Future 16U Regional. Karmen Gonzales (Brandeis HS/2026) displayed a scoring ability as well and between he and Guerra, served as a nice 1-2 guard punch. In their tight win over SA Premier, Gonzales dropped 20 pts and connected on 6 trey’s, the most of any prospect in one game for the weekend.
ProSkills SA 2027
A true 15U team playing up, solidified what they did at our CenTX Hoopsfest, winning their bracket on the 15U level, and followed that up by going undefeated a level up.
Overall it was two dog fights and two blowouts for this team. A team that plays so well balanced, no one scored more than 12 points in all four of their wins. That was done by Quintin Cain (Judson HS/2027). Elijah Sommers (Southwest HS/2027) and Joel Zolicoffer also helped spread the wealth hitting double digits each in one of their wins.
This is a team that has some size, Sommers standing 6’6”, Burton 6’4”, who has athleticism, scorers, and some shooters. It’s a serious combination of skill and ability that is going to put a bulls-eye on this young team, if they don’t have one already.
15U (4-0)
Texas Ballers Elite
Our youngest division certainly did not lack any talent. Made up of mostly DFW area prospects, the Ballers continued rolling through the competition. Matthew Widtfeldt (Lovejoy HS/2027) led the scoring column in two of their wins, going for 15 pts and 19 pts respectively. Coby Sims (W.T. White HS/2027) and Joseph Shearer (Leonard ISD/2027) both registered double digits in one win a piece and there extra scoring punch was more than enough to help the Ballers defeat the competition.
There closest competition was a 13 point win over BTB, 56-43, where all three of the aforementioned finished with double digits in the scorebook.
Texas Magic Elite
There were a handful of guard combo’s who balled out through the action, and the Magic had their own duo in Seth Lamanna (Central Catholic HS/2027) and Ryan Gallardo (Champion HS/2027). Gallardo registered two 20 plus point performances, finishing with a gam high 25 pts in their “W” over Texas Ballers Select, 64-35. Lamanna would match him point for point, notching 25 pts as well in their route of Reel Ice Cream, 61-34. Seth did display the ability to connect from beyond the arc, adding the long distance shot as a tool of his repertoire.
Spearheading the Magic’s attack, they were in part responsible for pulling out two nail bitters, edging opponents by three and five points respectively. Then turning up the heat in two blow-outs, securing wins by 17 pts and 29 pts.
