Greer goes for 30pts & Cavs pull away in the final...

Cibolo, TX-

The 5th Annual AlamoCityHoops Classic featured it’s most talented and competitive field yet, pitting the Lake Travis Cavaliers versus Oak Cliff Faith Family for the Championship. A game full of college prospects and rosters featuring eight to ten deep on both sides.

In the first eight minutes of play, the teams would go back and forth. The Eagles would hold a 10-7 lead, before Lake Travis used an 8-0 run, capped off by a Hudson Greer put back, to make it a 15-10 edge for the Cavs.

Closing out the first quarter, Lamont Hartfield would connect on a trey from the left corner, as the Eagles would make it a one-point deficit, trailing 15-14 going to the second period.

The second frame saw Lake Travis tighten up the defensive screws, and would hold Faith Family to only two field goals for the entire quarter. Ethan Birchall and Jaxon Shaver would splash in three-pointers, Greer would have a monster two handed flush in transition, and the Cavs would take a 32-19 advantage at the half.

After the break, Lake Travis would continue it’s stifling defense and senior wing, Jayden Thomas would also come alive. Netting 12 of his 14 points, attacking and weaving his way into the paint and finishing at the rim.

Hartfield would connect on two more treys in the final stanza as the Eagles would heat up from the perimeter. Jazz Henderson, Tony Dixon, and Issac Williams would all connect from deep, but the deficit had reached 20 points and the Cavaliers remained in control.

Thomas would swoop in from the left side of the hoop and finish on the right side with the wrap-around layup to make it 54-34, Lake Travis, with just over five minutes to play.

The Cavaliers would then close it out, and earn the ACH Championship, with a 64-43 final.

Tournament MVP was a unanimous selection, in junior Hudson Greer. Jayden Thomas also garnered 1st Team All Tournament Selection.

Colorado signee Doyran Onwuchekwa earned 1st Team All Tournament selection for the Eagles, as they finished Runner-Up.
