We continue our long look at the talent that stood out this past weekend at our High School "Elite" Combine. Here is Part II in our series of breakdowns.

Malik Pressley, 6’6”, SF 2023 (San Marcos HS)
A true SF who opened many eyes this past weekend. Quick and explosive off the bounce. His footwork around the basket allowed him to position himself to gather rebound after rebound. Has the ability to grab the board and handle the ball down the court and finish at the rim as he was seen catching a 6’7” body and did it so effortlessly.

Will Nathaniel, 6’5”, G 2022 (East Central HS)
Easily the most vocal and most intense player at the combine.  Will can talk a good game and back it up. On numerous occasions he was yelling and clapping it up as other players in his 1v1 groups made strong defensive plays.  At 6’5”, Will has the ability to play the guard position and attacks the rim aggressively.  Also not afraid to get in the mix to fight for rebounds.

Niko Smith, 6’6”, SF 2021 (Midland HS)
The top 2021 at the camp and the most improved from the offseason to this past weekend.  Niko is another long wing who can mix it up in a variety of ways.  He can rise up and hit from the outside or blow by you to finish at the rim.  A mix of handles increases his versatility on the court to create mismatches. Definitely the one college coaches should be keeping an eye on this summer.

Aaron San Miguel, 6’2”, G 2022 (SA Jefferson HS)
Plays with a unique style as he utilizes angles to get by defenders to pull up for the jumper or finish with the lay in.  As he attacks off the dribble he remains low while keeping the ball low making it difficult for defenders to strip it. Quick feet allow him to get into position while on defense.

D’Shybreon Stephens-Deary, 5’10”, PG 2021 (Odessa Permian HS)
Another point guard who utilizes his speed to gain position while playing defense.  His quick feet also translate to the offensive end as he changes his speed and direction in the open court finding open teammates for the easy bucket.

Isaac Orozco, 5’11”, PG 2021 (O'Connor HS)
A build which many coaches would love on their guards.  Isaac has a very strong and defined frame which allows him to create contact on both ends of the court. Leave him open and he will drain it from behind the arc. Fundamentally sound with the ball in his hands as he will not turn the ball over and gets to right spots to get the ball to his teammates. Another guard who is on the rise.

Marc Eyman, 6’3”, SG 2022 (San Antonio Christian HS)
The way he moved across the floor with the ball was so smooth as if he was simply gliding across the court. A guard who lures defenders to sleep with the smoothness and then explodes by them to the bucket. On the fastbreak knows when to pull up for the jumper or draw in the defender and make the correct pass.

Emmanuel "Manny" Robinson, 6’2”, G 2024 (Wagner HS)
One of the most impressive players due to him being a 2024.  The staff challenged him by placing Manny in a group of experienced guards during the drill sessions and he held his own.  Extremely coachable as he asked questions when he was unclear of the drill. Mature beyond his years.  Ability to hit the mid-range and from deep while displaying an array of moves to get to the basket.  Making a push for that #1 2024 spot in the Tri-Regions.

Trey Blackmore, 6’2”, PG 2022 (Cole HS)
A quiet assassin. When watching him on the court its as if you can see the gears turning in his head as he sets up his defender to get to the basket. Deceptive speed matched with quick handles allows him to maneuver around the basket to finish with either hand. When he spots up, can drain it from deep.

Max George, 6’1”, G 2024 (BASIS)
Another 2024 who more than held his own against the upperclassman.  Max was able to handle the pressure while bringing up the ball or handling from the wing. Strong enough now to create contact and finish in the lane. Savvy enough to get by stronger defenders with his handles. Hitting open treys makes him an even bigger threat on the court.

Davean Richardson, 6’1”, 2022 (Hutto HS)
The most aggressive player at the combine.  Another big body guard who loves contact and playing defense. Only a 2022 but is a lockdown guard and does not back down. His athleticism allows him to finish above the defender once he gets into the lane, but can also hit that mid-range jumper. He is a sleeper guard who may have a huge jump in the coming years.
